The Joint Commission is the nation’s leading and most widely recognized health care performance improvement organization. Specially trained health care professionals who are experts in their fields visit communities to assess their compliance to a rigorous set of Joint Commission performance standards. The standards focus on important patient, individual, or resident care and organization functions identified as essential to providing safe, high-quality care. The Gold Seal of Approval® shows our commitment to holding ourselves accountable to a high bar for quality and safety for those we serve.
LCS J.D. Power Award
As a LCS® community and part of the LCS family of companies, we’re overjoyed that they once again ranked highest in independent living resident overall satisfaction for the seventh year in row. The J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Senior Living Satisfaction Study is based on responses from residents living in an independent, assisted living, or memory care senior living community.
Best Independent Living Communities for 2026-2027 by U.S. News & World Report
Freedom Square has been recognized for achieving the highest possible rating for independent living in a national performance assessment. U.S. News evaluated such factors as community and activity, food and dining, caregiving, and management and staff for over 3,800 communities nationwide.

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Freedom Square as a Best Continuing Care Retirement Community. This designation highlights communities that offer a full continuum of care, supporting residents as their needs evolve over time.
